Pep will give Kun chance to break goal record

- By SIMON BAJKOWSKI

SERGIO Aguero could break the City goalscoring record tomorrow after Pep Guardiola hinted that the Argentine will play.

The 29-year-old returned to the starting line-up for the Blues just three weeks after breaking a rib in a car accident in Amsterdam, and a first-half penalty took him level with Eric Brook at the top of the all-time charts .

Aguero could not add to his tally on Saturday but could well get the opportunity in the league cup against Wolves as he looks to build his match rhythm up ahead of three key games for the Blues ahead of the international break.

City face West Brom and Napoli away before rounding off this batch of fixtures against Arsenal at home in a fortnight’s time.

“He played after three games,” he said.

“When you are out for three weeks, you always take a little bit to get your rhythm but he got minutes and maybe on Tuesday he will play again. That’s why it’s so important. Today he equalled the record.

“As soon as he breaks it, it will be special and so important for him to be the top scorer in the whole history of the club.

“We will be happy to have that moment with him.”

Guardiola had indicated before the game that Aleks Zinchenko will be given a chance to impress in the upcoming week.

Fabian Delph has played the last four games at left back and could make way for the Ukranian against Wolves.
