Ammies survive scare to secure maximum points

SALFORD CITY remain in second place in the National League North table after a 3-2 win at home to York City.

It looked like Salford were on course for a comfortabl­e win when two goals from Liam Hogan and a strike from Jack Redshaw saw them race into a 3-0 lead.

York scored late goals through Louis Almond and Aidan Connolly to make it a nervy end, but Salford held on to earn the victory.

STOCKPORT COUNTY came out on top in a 3-1 win at Nuneaton Town.

The Hatters were in control throughout, with goals from Jason Oswell, Gary Stopforth and James Ball.

Nuneaton pulled one back through Daniel Nti in the closing stages, but they also had Exodus Geohaghon dismissed in stoppage time. County are now ninth after the win.

CURZON ASHTON have moved into the play-offs after a 2-1 victory at home to Boston United.

Jordan Wright and Richard Baker scored either side of Kabongo Tshimanga’s strike for Boston.

FC UNITED dropped to second bottom as they suffered a 1-0 defeat at Chorley.

Nicholas Haughton got the only goal of the game, while FC United also had Zac Corbett sent off.

In the National League, MACCLESFIE­LD TOWN extended their lead at the top to three points after a 1-0 win at Leyton Orient. Scott Wilson got the winner.
