-

POP Idol Will Young was looking angelic as he headed to the Dirty Martini launch fresh from entertaining theatregoers on stage in Cabaret at The Lowry in Salford.

Will was among glam guests at the VIP launch for the new bar on Deansgate on Thursday night, and showed off his new close-cropped haircut as he posed under Dirty Martini’s signature neon at the venue.

The angel wings and halo, with the slogan, ‘Get your halo dirty,’ was proving to be a popular feature of the stylish new bar, which is based over two floors on the corner of Deansgate and Peter Street.

Will has been winning rave reviews for his role as Emcee in the classic Kander and Ebb musical, alongside Louise Redknapp as Sally Bowles, which ends at The Lowry today

Real Housewives of Cheshire star Darby Ward was also among those getting into the party spirit at the venue, rocking a black furry gilet over skinny jeans.

And rising singing stars The Katanas, twins Hope and Millie, were in glam form attending the Dirty Martini bash from their BBC Introducing music showcase over at the Deaf Institute.

VIP guests were treated to a range of the bar’s signature martinis and canapes, before dancing the night away in the bar’s basement dance area.

Christopher Sproule, general manager of Dirty Martini Manchester, said: “We’re incredibly excited to have opened Dirty Martini in Manchester and to have had so many people join us to celebrate our launch last night.

“We offer a brand-new approach to the standard cocktail bar offering and feel so honoured to be a part of Manchester’s community.”

Additionally, to celebrate the launch in Manchester, Dirty Martini has created an exclusive cocktail to add to Manchester’s menu – The Manchestini.

Inspired by Manchester’s iconic symbol, the worker bee, the Manchestini consists of bee pollen, liquid honey, dried lavender, lemon juice, coconut water, Kalani coconut rum liquor and Manchester Gin, garnished with a mini honey dipper, encrusted with honeycomb.

With seven bars around London and one in Cardiff, the Manchester venue is the brand’s first site in the north and is now open to the public.
