What you’ll pay at the Christmas markets...

WITH this year’s markets finally here, the centre of Manchester is officially the hub for all things Christmas.

From mulled wine and crepes to beer and bratwurst, you’ll find it all at the markets.

To make life easier, here’s a guide to where you can find some festive food and drink - and crucially, how much it costs.

The price of food and drink is always a hot topic at the markets, which are often accused of being overpriced. Fairly or not, take a look at the prices at some of the main market sites and decide for yourself.

If you’re planning a trip to the markets, budget for between £4 and £6.50 for a mulled wine, £4.50 to £5 for a pint of beer or sausage.

And don’t forget to factor in your £2.50 mug deposit if you’re having a drink. You can return them to any bar to get your money back when you leave, or take it home as a souvenir if you choose.
