TV royalty take to red carpet
TV favourites ramped up the glamour for the annual Royal Television Society North West Awards. Corrie beauties Kym Marsh and Bhavna Limbachia and Real Housewives of Cheshire ladies Dawn Ward, Ester Dee, Lauren Simon, Leanne Brown, Nermina Pieters-Mekic, Seema Malhotra, Rachel Lugo and Stacey Forsey led in the style stakes at the Hilton Hotel on Deansgate.
And the Real Housewives were delighted to win the Best Entertainment Programme for the drama packed ITVBe reality show.
Wigan actress Kym, who plays Corrie favourite Michelle Connor, was excited to walk the red carpet for Corrie at the star-studded bash, and scooped Best Performance in a Continuing Drama for her role as Michelle Connor in Coronation Street.
She told us that she’s thrilled to be reunited with her pal Alison King who recently returned for filming on the famous cobbles as icon Carla Connor.
She said: “We’re sharing a dressing room.
“It’s so exciting to have Alison back on the show. We’re like sisters.”
There was sad news from Car Share Star Sian Gibson and writer Paul Coleman who confirmed to us that there won’t be a third series of the hit TV series filmed in Greater Manchester, which ended on a cliffhanger when Peter Kay’s character John Redmond failed to stop his true love Kayleigh Kitson fleeing his Fiat 500L after confessing her love for him.
Sian said: “We’re not doing a third series. We’ve finished filming and my wig has gone into storage.
“We just didn’t expect everyone to get so involved in the story that everyone wanted us to get together.”
