This ‘green’ guilt trip is costing us all money
I WAS surprised to read F Alfredsman’s comments on climate change (Viewpoints, November 14). They were very pessimistic about now and in the future.
There are certain facts about climate change and many untruths.
First of all we must remember that climate change has happened for four-and-a-half billion years since the earth was first formed.
The environmental movement and its growing list of funded advocates claim that man’s influence has been unprecedented in recent years – this is patently not true.
They claim that CO2 levels have a thermostatic link to temperatures – this is also untrue, why? Because previous ice ages have had CO2 levels 14 times higher than today’s levels which are historically low at only 385 parts per million.
What many people don’t realise is that the modern environmental movement has long sought to dictate how the world should be run.
The United Nations, which is full of environmental advocates, devised a document called Agenda 21 several years ago. This document is easy to access; within this document is a clear strategy for the UN to rule the world with a one world environmental government that takes power away from individual countries. This document clearly lists how resources will be rationed to enable wealth distribution across the world.
Many of today’s well-known and funded environmental groups have jumped on this bandwagon and are trying to enable its success. Surprise, surprise, it’s the UN who organise the world’s climate summits!
Of course the problem with UN’s Agenda 21 is that we don’t get a say or a vote, in other words it’s an attack on democracy, and that’s obviously a very dangerous development.
F Alfredsman also worries about the funding from fossil fuel investments in Manchester Universities of £9.5m, they needn’t. The US government accounting office has revealed the staggering amounts of more than $10bn per year invested in climate change propaganda and funding to US Universities.
The biggest tragedy of all is: It’s got little to do with the saving the planet; it’s mostly about money and taxes; an expensive hoax which makes us all poorer through higher taxation on cars, travel, utilities and food.
In reality this means we have less money to look after our children and our children’s futures.
The guilt trip lies squarely at the feet of the environmental movement. Name and address supplied
