Bisping: I’m 100 per cent ready for fight

MIXED martial artist Michael Bisping insists he is 100 per cent ahead of his fight with Kelvin Gastelum in Shanghai this weekend.

Manchester fighter Bisping faces Gastelum on Saturday, just three weeks after losing his UFC middleweight title to Georges St-Pierre in New York.

Bisping has now stepped in on short notice to face Gastelum, after original opponent Anderson Silva was pulled from the bout due a potential failed drugs test.

Despite the extremely short turnaround, Bisping is adamant that he is more than capable of picking up a victory over Gastelum.

“I feel great. UFC sent me to all of the doctors for my medicals. I’m 100 per cent totally fine. It’s a walk in the park,” he said.

“Kelvin’s a tough guy. I respect him a lot and I’ll focus on the fight.

“Obviously my fight with Georges didn’t go my way, and the best way to rectify that is to get straight back on the horse, and try to get back in the win column.

“Physically I’m totally fine. Mentally, of course I’m a little bit numb so I want to rectify that and exorcise my demons, so I need to get back in the ring and fight again.

“This is what I’ve done my entire life and I guess when it’s kind of short notice does take a little bit of pressure off. I was fighting earlier this month with the belt. That brings extra pressure. Now it’s just about going out there and having a good fight.”
