LAWS on smacking children are changing and parents in England are being warned they could be prosecuted. Here’s what you’re saying on our Facebook page:

If you smacked an adult in public something would be said, yet smacking a little child that is still learning boundaries is acceptable? Never have and never will place a hand on my children. Dani Halton

Too many do-gooders have ruined our society. Kids turn into bullies at school and grow up in gangs standing on street corners beating up vulnerable people for laughs. They never understood proper discipline. Nick Simpson

As adults we wouldn’t expect a smack from another adult if we did something to upset them. We talk it through, apologise when we’re wrong and learn from our mistakes. Same should be applied to children. Naomi Jayne

There are young people running about now doing whatever they want to because they’ve never had any serious consequence to their bad behaviour. Simon Chamberlain

My parents smacked us when we were kids. I and my brothers have all suffer from a condition because of this – it’s called manners and respect. Shaka Zulu

When I was a kid it did me no harm or all my mates, it taught us respect and manners. These kids today don’t know the meaning of respect. We never used to get pensioners mugged and kids running round causing havoc. Pamela Grocott

Pathetic. No wonder we have loads of idiots running around with the ‘I can do anything because no one can touch me’ complex. Todd Robinson
