You don’t have to live here to complain...

-

I WOULD like to make a few points to Coun Pat Karney.

I am a Moston resident but due to personal reasons do not want to publish my name in the newspaper and I’m sure any others feel the same.

So I’m baffled as to why it seems necessary to have to live in the electoral area to be able to complain about it.

If people don’t wish to go on the electoral register or want to give a false name why is it such a major issue for you?

Perhaps you should concentrate on the content of the letter and not who has written it.

I’m also devastated by the huge decline in Harpurhey, so can I not have an opinion as I’m not on its electoral role?

Moston Lane has also continued to decline – mainly in the limited choice of shops.

There are around 70 shops on Moston Lane and possibly twothirds of them are either hairdressers or takeaways.

I’m all for supporting local businesses, but there’s only a handful I can support.

We have our lovely annual Christmas lights event, but even that won’t improve the shopping area – I use the term ‘shopping’ very loosely, as there’s actually only possibly half a dozen shops to physically shop in!

Many residents including myself would love to be part of an ‘improve Moston Lane’ party as we are all so disheartened by it.

So come on Moston councillors, maybe the best idea would be to pull it all down and start again! A very fed-up Moston (and on the electoral role) resident
