Ginema will get you in festive spirit

-

FESTIVE film, food and drink are on the menu at a ‘ginema’ experience returning to Manchester this Christmas.

Dreamed up by the founders of Alderman’s Didsbury Gin, the cinematic banquet will be back with a screening of Elf next week.

The Will Ferrell comedy will be shown in the private dining room of MasterChef winner Simon Wood’s restaurant, Wood, which hosted the first Halloween ginema event in October.

Guests will be greeted with a glass of fizz, followed by cinema-style canapés and flavoured Didsbury gin and tonics to accompany the first half of the film.

Audience members will then be treated to a dish from the First Street restaurant along with more G&Ts during the intermission, before finishing with coffee and petit fours.

Alderman’s Didsbury Gin founders Liam Manton and Mark Smallwood will be on hand to talk through the story of the spirit.

The drink hit the market earlier this year, inspired by Didsbury’s Fletcher Moss Park and named in honour of Alderman Fletcher Moss, who gifted the gardens to the city in 1915 along with the Old Parsonage, where he lived until his death in 1919.

The Christmas ginema night takes place on Tuesday December 12 at 6.30pm.

Tickets are on sale priced at £39 per person and can be booked by emailing reservations@ woodmanchester.com.
