City ‘respectful’ in their ‘noisy’ record celebration

- By RICHARD FAY

SWANSEA manager Paul Clement says he is not offended by the Blues noisy post-match celebrations.

City set the top-flight winning record with their 15th consecutive win in a row against Swansea on Wednesday night, and the players really enjoyed it.

The City squad could be heard loud and clear as they celebrated their feat by blasting loud music in the changing room following a convincing 4-0 victory at the Liberty Stadium.

“They’ve been very respectful,” Clement said.

“It must be great to watch if you’re a City fan but I found it difficult to watch at times. They’re one of the best teams I’ve seen.”

There’s been plenty of reason for City players to celebrate over the last week as they continue to blitz records under Pep Guardiola this season.

Not only have City recorded the best ever start to a Premier League season, they have now also broken an all-time English football record.

City sparked a tunnel feud when Jose Mourinho took exception to the jovial celebrations following Sunday’s derby win at Old Trafford.

“We were happy because we won the derby,” Guardiola said. “We celebrated it like when Arsenal wins against United, they celebrate.

“We celebrated. Where? Inside the locker room – that’s what we try to do and we did it. It was correct, believe me, we jumped because we were happy. People can understand that we won an important game and we wanted to celebrate.”
