Jonas maintains perfect record

- BOXING By SHELDAN KEAY

NATASHA Jonas ended the year in style after she stopped Katarina Vistica in two rounds at the Oldham Leisure Centre on Saturday.

Jonas, who is trained by Joe Gallagher at his gym in Bolton, mainevented the Black Flash Promotions show, and picked up a dominant win.

Jonas has sparred with the likes of Scott Cardle and Paul Butler in the build-up to the fight, and the former amateur star has now won all four of her fights since turning professional earlier this year – with all of the wins coming by stoppage.

The fight in Oldham came just a couple of months after her last win in October when she defeated Marianna Gulyas by third-round stoppage at York Hall in London.

Jonas was set to compete on the Tony Bellew versus David Haye card at the O2 Arena this Sunday, but that event was cancelled after Haye suffered an injury, with Jonas making the late switch onto the Oldham card.

Elsewhere on Saturday, Dale Coyne continued the good start to his professional career with a straightforward points win over Ben Davies in Wigan.

Coyne trains alongside Terry Flanagan at Steve Maylett’s Finest Gym, and the super-middleweight prospect won 80-73 on points after eight rounds.

It means he is now unbeaten in 12 fights since joining the paid ranks.

There were also wins for Kane Gardner and Adam Ridge on the undercard.
