Swinging in the jungle

FROM the recycled rubbish of Junkyard Golf Club to the life-sized dinosaurs of DinoFalls, crazy golf courses are having a bit of a moment in Manchester.

Now plans have been revealed for a new junglethem­ed adventure golf course at The Printworks.

Cardiff-based Treetop Adventure Golf has lodged a licence applicatio­n to open a new attraction inside the Withy Grove entertainm­ent complex.

The Amazon inspired attraction will feature two 18-hole golf courses as well as a Clubhouse Bar serving themed cocktails licence is granted.

Exact details of the courses have yet to be revealed, but in Wales they include a tropical trail set in a rainforest with chattering toucans and singing barbership frogs, and an ancient explorer challenge with towering trees and a river.

Co-founder Elizabeth Perrin said: “It will be an all-out themed experience.

“You’re surrounded by a lot of immersion and interactio­n. Everyone is welcome; we are there for families, for students, for date nights, for work get-togethers and parties.” if the

If approved, the Manchester site is expected to open next year and will be the first outside Cardiff.

“Manchester has been a city we have really wanted to have a presence in since the beginning,” said Elizabeth.

“It’s such an exciting, vibrant, bustling city and we think we can really add to the leisure offer. We couldn’t be more excited about Manchester.”

The attraction’s proposed opening hours will be from 8am to midnight, Monday to Sunday, with alcohol served from 10am to midnight if the licence is granted.
