Hill backing players to bounce back despite loss to Blackpool

ROCHDALE manager Keith Hill insists he has complete faith in his players despite the 2-1 home defeat to Blackpool.

Hill’s side are now six points from safety in League One, but the Dale boss is backing his side to turn things around.

“Good people bounce and I’m expecting a good changing room to bounce,” he said.

“You’ve got to accept the position that you are in and start responding to it, and that’s what I’m looking for from the players.”

OLDHAM Athletic boss Richie Wellens was far from pleased with the decisionmaking of Cameron Dummigan following their 1-0 defeat at Shrewsbury Town.

Shaun Whalley got the only goal of the game in the first half following mistakes from Dummigan and Johny Placide – and Wellens was furious with how it was conceded.

“In the first half I thought it looked like two very average teams, then they score after Cameron Dummigan tries a backheel eight yards from our byline, which is ridiculous,” he said.

“Why is he doing backheels? It’s outrageous. Our goalkeeper Johny Placide then makes a mistake as well, which is not like him.

“There wasn’t much in the game and in the second half we were on top, so we should have got something out of the game.”

Elsewhere, strugglers BURY suffered yet another defeat after they were beaten 1-0 at Scunthorpe United.
