THE vegan street food festival GRUB ExtraVEGANza returns later this month, bringing with it a huge array of meat-free and animal-friendly food and drink.

Back for its fourth instalment, the event has extended to three days to cope with the huge demand it saw last year.

Putting Manchester firmly on the vegan map, the GRUB ExtraVEGANza will demonstrate just how good vegan food can really be, with ‘fish’ and chips – faux fish steaks made from soya protein, seaweed and shiitake – from the Hip Hop Chip Shop; gooey mac and vegan cheese from Mac Daddies; mezze from The Ottomen; handmade dumplings from Oh Mei Dumpling; French patisserie from Chou Choux; and some jaw-dropping bakes from Bake-O-Rama.

Taking place from Friday, January 27 to Sunday, January 29, the event will include a mini food produce market selling locally-made pies, pasta, butters, cheeses, pickles and ferments to take home.

And alongside the grub will be 14 lines of vegan beers from local breweries on cask and keg, plus a selection of wines, ciders, hand made sodas, soft drinks, hot drinks and spirits.

Jules Bailey, director of GRUB said “Seeing the growth of veganism this year has been brilliant and it’s been amazing to see Manchester become the vegan capital of the north.

“We want to do our bit in showing everyone you can eat cracking, tasty food and have a good knees up at a vegan food fest and that’s why we’re doing ExtraVEGANza again this year!
