Oh, brother! Spoof Adam film is a hit!
ADAM Thomas has only just starred in his final emotional Emmerdale scenes - but already it’s as though he never existed in a spoof video made by the show.
The ITV1 rural soap has placed a new actor in the role of Adam Barton in the hilarious video.
Made as a tribute to Salford actor Adam, it shows the popular soap star being replaced by his own twin brother Scott.
The five minute documentarystyle film kicks off with co-star and pal Danny Miller excitedly waiting to see who the new Adam will be, while Isabel Hodgins who plays Victoria Dingle prepares herself in makeup on her day off.
Aaron Dingle actor Danny says deadpan to the camera: “Today is the day of the recasting of Adam Barton.
“I don’t want to tell you who it is, but it is a big name.
“It’s obviously off the back of the other Adam leaving. It’s just right and if anything it should have come two or three years ago.”
And Isabel says she wants the new Adam to be “taller and thinner, be on time and know your lines.” Meanwhile assistant director Sophie Stocks has been tasked with the important role of getting chips from the canteen for the new Adam, and they are served by former Emmerdale actor Kelvin Fletcher.
Natalie J Robb who plays Moira Barton joins Danny in the new Adam’s first scene in the Barton household, and they are thrilled when Scott bursts through a door.
Scott, who appeared in the ITV2 reality show Love Island in 2016, said: “I’m absolutely over the moon. I feel like part of the family already. It couldn’t have gone any better for me.
“My first scene in the Bartons and I’ve absolutely smashed it, let’s face it. Between me and you it was something I got offered before Adam got offered it but I felt it was his time to shine.
“Let’s face it he’s messed it up hasn’t he? Bring on the scenes, bring them on.”
The film then turns serious as Danny pays tribute to his friend, saying: “It’s been nine amazing years at Emmerdale and we’re going to miss you so, so much.”
Adam Thomas and his wife find out the gender of their second child in the most adorable way.
And Natalie says: “From everybody at Emmerdale we’re going to miss you and we love you.”
