Ammies in late draw at Hatters

- NON-LEAGUE By SHELDAN KEAY @MENSports

SALFORD CITY scored an injury-time equaliser as their match against local rivals STOCKPORT COUNTY finished 2-2 at Edgeley Park.

The Hatters went ahead as Jason Oswell got the opener just after the half-hour mark, but Jack Redshaw equalised for Salford a few minutes into the second half.

Stockport then thought they had won it when Bohan Dixon gave the hosts the lead on 82 minutes, but they were denied the win as Michael Nottingham got the equaliser for Salford right at the death to ensure both sides took a share of the spoils.

Salford have had their lead at the top of the National League North table reduced to two points following the draw, while Stockport are in ninth position.

FC UNITED came out on top during their game yesterday after a hard-fought 1-0 victory against Southport at Broadhurst Park.

Tom Greaves continues to prove that his role as playermanager isn’t affecting him as he got the only goal of the game after 12 minutes to ensure his side picked up all three points.

It means the Rebels have moved up to 13th place, continuing the good run of form the club has undergone since Greaves became boss.

CURZON ASHTON were set to be in action against AFC Telford United, but the game at the New Bucks Head stadium was postponed due to a waterlogged pitch.

In the National League, top-ofthe-table MACCLESFIELD TOWN were held to a 0-0 draw at home to Solihull Moors.
