Dog stolen in armed robbery

- By ANDREW BARDSLEY

A YOUNG dad was stabbed and his beloved French Bulldog stolen by two knife-wielding men in a terrifying armed robbery at his home.

The men broke into Kieren Hamilton’s Oldham house and attacked him in front of his oneyear-old daughter Esmae, who screamed in terror as her dad was left with a deep gash in his arm.

Now Kieren, 21, who was facing surgery, has offered a £1,000 reward for the return of his dog, which is called Rambo.

The robbers threw a brick at a window of Kieren’s home in Chadderton at around 6am on Saturday as the family slept.

After gaining entry, they demanded money and began to ‘poke’ Kieren with a knife.

After refusing to hand over anything, he was stabbed in the arm, suffering a deep wound causing him to lose a significant amount of blood.

Kieren’s girlfriend Jess was not in the house but her brother, who was also threatened with the knife, ended up with superficial wounds.

The men made off with Rambo, as well as Kieren’s phone and laptop.

It is feared Kieren may have suffered nerve damage, which could affect his use of his arm.

Kieren, a currency trader, told the M.E.N.: “They stabbed me about 40 times, but most of them didn’t pierce, I have just got scratches on my arm. They couldn’t get what they wanted from me, so they stole my dog, and tried to get one up on me to hurt me that way.”

Kieren’s mum, Nikki Campbell, told the M.E.N.: “He’s not bothered about himself. He is concerned about his little girl, she was screaming. He just wants his dog back.”

Ms Campbell told how the house is stained with blood, and says she doesn’t think Kieren and his family will return to the property.

She said: “He has lost a lot of blood. There is blood all over the house, it looked like a massacre. Kieren tried to drag himself to the baby, but he felt very weak.

“He said it felt like hours that they were there, but it was probably only minutes. It was such an ordeal.

“The baby was screaming, she heard everything.”
