Man badly injured as tractor flips over

A MAN was left with serious leg injuries when his tractor overturned on a country road.

Ramsbottom Road in the village of Hawkshaw, Bury, was closed off by police following the crash at about 4.30pm on Wednesday.

A member of staff from nearby Red Lion pub said a tractor had overturned with the trailer attached.

She added there was no access to the village as emergency services remained on scene to treat the patient.

A GMP spokeswoma­n said firefighte­rs were called to the scene.

She said: “We were called to Ramsbottom Road at 4.30pm to reports a tractor had overturned.

“A man has got serious injuries.

“The road has been closed.

“The crash occurred near to The Red Lion pub.

“The fire service and ambulance were called to the scene.”
