Worrall signs again for Aces
BRITISH No.2 and club asset Steve Worrall becomes the first Belle Vue signing to confirm his return to the National Speedway Stadium for his fourth consecutive season in the Aces’ colours.
A firm favourite among the Mancunian faithful, he consistently demonstrated his world-class potential as a solid second-string presence and even, at times, a frequently powerful heat leader.
But it was his debut performance for Team Great Britain in last year’s Speedway World Cup where he proved his mettle among the best in the world, an experience he’s determined to build on.
The 26-year-old is keen to continue his European development and has already agreed terms with Polish clubs Rawicz and Lezno, while also keeping things local with Championship side Scunthorpe.
He said: “It was a no-brainer that Belle Vue was where I wanted to be in the Premiership. It’s my parent club, I love the track and I feel the bulk of my development has come from riding for them.
“I had one of my best seasons in 2017 and I want to continue in that vein of form. I’ve made bigger commitments in Poland this year and Belle Vue sets a great standard for what to expect out there.
“I believe the experience can only be beneficial to my progression.
“I want to push myself harder and take on the larger responsibilities within the team. I know I’m capable of handling the pressure.”
With team-building close to completion, further announcements on the 2018 Belle Vue Aces and Colts sides are expected in the coming weeks.
