BEST OF MANCHESTER

-

Confirming one of the city’s worst-kept secrets, London restaurant group Dishoom finally revealed plans to open its longrumoured first Manchester branch inside the newlyredeveloped Manchester Hall last month. Inspired by Bombay’s old Irani cafes, the chain started in Covent Garden in 2010 and now has five sites in the capital as well as one in Edinburgh. The menu includes breakfast dishes such as bacon and sausage naan rolls, Bombay omelettes and Kejriwal (fried eggs on chilli cheese toast), followed by an all-day menu featuring small plates such as keema pau (spiced minced lamb and peas in a toasted, buttered bun) prawn koliwada (crispy prawns with tamarind and date chutney) along with grills, ‘ruby murrays’, biryanis, roti rolls and salad plates.
