Man hurt in stabbing recovers in hospital

A MAN was in hospital after being stabbed in the chest.

The victim, believed to be aged in his 40s, was discovered by police suffering from stab wounds on Oldfield Road, Salford, close to the Regent Road retail park.

He was taken to the Manchester Royal Infirmary shortly before 7pm on Thursday evening.

He was yesterday still in hospital having treatment.

Greater Manchester Police have launched an investigat­ion and are appealing for anyone with further informatio­n to get in touch.

A statement from the North West Ambulance service said: “We were called to someone who had been stabbed in the chest.

“We sent two rapid response vehicles and two ambulances.

“We have taken one patient to the Manchester Royal Infirmary. It looks like he is a male aged in his 40s.”

Anyone with informatio­n is asked to contact police on 101, quoting incident number 1507 of 11/01/18.
