PM’s praise for fundraiser

-

A FEARLESS fundraiser who pushed himself to the limit for a good cause has been praised by the prime minister.

Carl Thomas, from Stockport, has raised £27,000 for charity by taking extreme physical challenges.

In 2016 he ran a blistering 10 marathons in 10 days, and last year he cycled 1,500 miles in 10 days in aid of the Teenage Cancer Trust.

The 32-year-old is attempting to raise £1m by his 40th birthday by doing a challenge each year.

Carl has now received the Points of Light award, which recognises volunteers making a change in their community and inspiring others. He received a personal letter from Theresa May which reads: “By cycling 1,500 miles in 10 days and running 10 marathons in 10 days your incredible work is giving vital support to people living with cancer.”

Carl said he was ‘thrilled and honoured’ to receive the award.
