Amir and wife on ‘date night’ after ending their split
BOLTON boxer Amir Khan showed a united front with pregnant wife Faryal Makhdoom as they enjoyed a ‘date night’ together in Manchester. The couple reunited just before Amir headed into the I’m a Celebrity...Get Me Out of Here jungle in November despite rather publically announcing they had split in September. But the couple now look blissfully happy as they prepare for the arrival of their second child together.
They were all smiles as they headed to celebhaunt bar Menagerie at New Bailey on Friday night.
And Faryal posted on Twitter how much she was looking forward to their ‘date night.’
She said: “Date night with @amirkingkhan at the @MenagerieMCR tonight - can’t wait to try the food there.”
It appears all is well for the couple, despite Amir hitting national headlines at the weekend amid claims he had cosied up to another woman. Neither he nor Faryal have commented on the reports in The Sun newspaper, but Faryal did tweet cryptically afterwards: “Not everyone deserves to know the real you. Let them criticize who they think you are.”
Amir revealed earlier this month that he is heading back into the boxing ring. He is ‘back to business’ for the bout at the Liverpool Echo Arena on April 21.
When the couple appeared on Loose Women earlier this month Amir blamed his marriage split on being out of the boxing ring for too long.
He said at the time: “What went wrong I think was a lack of communication.
“I was away and not only that it was the hand injury I had and not being in the boxing ring. Being away from my family, going through a lot of stuff in my life. The best place for me is being in the boxing ring. Being away from that took me all over the place. I lost that focus and that structure.” Amir, who has a three-year-old daughter Lamaisah with Faryal, said that his religion and flying out to Australia for the ITV1 reality show I’m a Celebrity helped to put him on the right path. He added: “I didn’t know what to do with my life. I was breaking my marriage. I wasn’t boxing, I had a hand injury. I didn’t know where to go any more. I started praying and that’s one of the reasons that put me on the right path and then going into the jungle helped me as well.”
