IN Greater Manchester each year thousands of people go missing, leaving behind unanswered questions and families wracked with uncertainty.

Witnesses can come forward with sightings weeks, months or years later. Sometimes the trail simply goes cold.

Below are details of people who have gone missing since Christmas, whose disappearance is being investigated by Greater Manchester Police, or being circulated by the national charity Missing People. A spokesman for the charity said: “Some missing people you will have heard of, but many more you won’t.

“For their families, life can feel like a desperate and unbearable struggle as they wait for days or even years.”

In 2016 GMP received 13,155 reports of missing people, with almost 6,000 concerning missing children.
