‘We spotted a mouse running around cinema’
BOSSES ‘URGENTLY’ LOOKING INTO COMPLAINT
A DAD claims a mouse was scurrying around a Manchester cinema while he and his daughter tried to watch a film.
John Alesbury says his teenage girl got the fright of her life when a mouse ran underneath her seat at the Vue Cinema, in The Printworks.
He had taken Ava, 17, to watch the new Star Wars film when she said she had spotted a rodent. A spokesman for the cinema chain said they were looking into the complaint as a matter of urgency.
John, 52, from Levenshulme, said: “We were sitting down waiting for the film to start. I turned to my daughter and she had a horrified look on her face. She said she’d seen a mouse run under her feet from beneath one of seats.
“We moved to the other side of the screen and watched the film.”
After the film finished John told a member of staff about the problem, and was asked to inform a manager, which he did. But John was less than impressed with the response from staff at the Vue cinema.
He said: “I informed the guy they seemed to have a problem with rodents in screen 19.
“We then got in touch with Vue directly and they said it would look into it.”
A representative for Vue confirmed they had received a complaint.
A Vue spokesman said: “We can confirm we received a report of mice in one of our screens on Wednesday 17th January.
“We take customer feedback very seriously, and we are currently looking into this as a matter of urgency.”
