Striker re-United with his pooch pals

- By ALICE MCKEEGAN

WHEN Alexis Sanchez gave his first interview since joining United, he was quick to praise his beloved dogs Atom and Humber.

And it’s not taken him long to be reunited with his favourite Labradors – as they have already joined him in Manchester.

Photographers spotted the pair arriving at The Lowry Hotel where Sanchez – and his manager Jose Mourinho – are currently staying.

The dogs arrived on Tuesday evening – just a day after Sanchez’s transfer from Arsenal was completed – and Sanchez posted an Instagram Story featuring the pooches settling into their new surroundings.

But the post won’t have gone down too well with many Arsenal supporters – as his faithful dogs were wearing United shirts emblazoned with Alexis 7 on the back.

United’s new No.7 is regularly pictured with his pets – although there was no sign of him with the dogs outside the hotel on Tuesday – and they even have their own Instagram account with 159,000 followers.

The 29-year-old even made reference to the duo in his first interview as a United player. When speaking about who cheers him up after a defeat, special praise went to his two four-legged friends.

He told MUTV: “Atom and Humber are my mates, my kids, the ones who are with me every day and who I spend time with. They see me when I get home tired and feeling a bit low, and they understand you and how you are every day.”
