-

A CLUBBER needed 17 stitches after an unprovoked attack.

The 21-year-old victim was sitting with friends in the city centre nightclub Factory when a man approached and punched him in the face before walking off.

Police have now released CCTV of the man they want to speak to in connection with the attack, which left the victim with a deep cut to his lip.

The man had been at the venue on Princess Street when his attacker came up to him and said something to the group of friends that they couldn’t hear.

When he asked the man what he had said, he was struck in the face, leaving him needing hospital treatment.

Det Con Stuart MacQuiban of GMP’s City of Manchester borough is investigating the incident, which happened in the early hours of September 24.

“This was a completely unprovoked attack on a man who was enjoying an evening out with his friends”, he said.

“The photo we have released is very clear, so if you were there that night and recognise him, or know who the man is, please get in touch with police.

“I know it has been a long time, but it could have been anyone who was attacked that night, so please, if you saw something that could help find the person responsible, share this with us.”
