Cheese fans get Brewski bonus with this menu...

- By EMILY HEWARD

CHORLTON bar Brewski is branching out to the city centre – and bringing molten cheese galore with it.

Specialising in the Canadian national dish of poutine – chips, cheese (curds) and gravy – Brewski has gone down a storm in the south Manchester suburb since opening last year.

Now a second branch is set to open just off Mosley Street, in the site formerly home to vegetarian restaurant 1847.

Alongside its signature poutine, the new Brewski will also serve raclette – Swiss cheese, melted and scraped from a giant wheel – macaroni cheese, and hot deli sandwiches.

Co-owner James Daly said: “Every day we’ll have three different roast or slow-cooked meats that people can have in a sandwich or on poutine, and for veggies we’re going to be doing raclette with roasted vegetables and pickles. “People just love melted cheese.” The venue will seat 42 diners as well as catering to the office crowds nearby with a take-out service. Deliveries will also be available via Deliveroo.

The bar will be open until around 9pm most nights, serving a selection of American craft beers in bottles and cans.

A Canadian lodge-style fit-out, complete with a giant carved bear, is now taking shape ready for the opening, which is scheduled to take place on Monday, March 5.

Brewski Chorlton hit the headlines last year with its deep-fried Christmas dinner, featuring a foot-long, battered pig in blanket.

The Wilbraham Road bar is now serving giant ‘munchie boards’ following the success of the enormous festive platter.

Available on Tuesdays only, it includes maple butter-fried chicken, Philly cheesesteak kebabs, hoisin pork belly, exploding ’Nduja and mozzarella focaccia, mozzarella dippers with ’Nduja bacon jam, Cajun fries, deepfried jalapenos and salad.
