Man, 23, weaves through traffic on wrong side of road

A DRIVER weaved through busy traffic on the wrong side of a dual carriagewa­y during a police chase.

Christophe­r Wilson has been jailed for a year after the dangerous stunt on a busy road in Ashton, Tameside.

Dash-cam footage showed the 23-year-old being followed along Park Parade before he went through a red light.

He then crossed on to the other side of the road, dodging oncoming traffic.

Officers followed him along Park Parade during the terrifying chase, which ended in a crash.

The GMP traffic team tweeted a video of the incident after Wilson was sentenced yesterday.

Officers posted: “Christophe­r Wilson, 23-years-old, of Audenshaw, was sentenced at Crown Court today for dangerous driving.

“No licence, no insurance, failed to stop after RTC.

“He was imprisoned for 12 months and banned for two years.”

Wilson, 23, of West Bank in Audenshaw, was sentenced to 12 months in prison and has been banned from driving for two years at Manchester Minshull Street Crown Court on Friday.

He pleaded guilty to dangerous driving, using a vehicle without insurance, failure to stop after an accident, failure to report an accident and driving without a licence at an earlier hearing.
