The region’s most expensive streets

- By CLAIRE MILLER AND DAMON WILKINSON newsdesk@men-news.co.uk

WE’VE crunched the numbers to work out where the most expensive street is in each of Greater Manchester’s 10 boroughs.

Top of the list is Hill Top in Hale, Trafford, where three homes were sold last year for an eye-watering average of £2m.

At the other end of the scale, Oldham’s most expensive street is Delph Lane in Delph where again three properties were sold for an average of £374,000.

The most expensive street in England and Wales was Knightsbridge in Westminster, where homes go for an average of £12m, whereas the least expensive street was Verdun Terrace in Ferryhill, Durham, with an average price of £18,233.

Figures are based on data from the Land Registry, which lists the price paid for every residential property bought at market value which are then registered.

The data includes buy-to-let sales, repossessions, and property bought through companies.

Averages for each road are based on the mean of all sale prices in 2017.

Streets with fewer than three sales are excluded.

Here’s the borough-by-borough breakdown of the most expensive streets in Greater Manchester.
