Health chief off to pastures new
A COUNCIL’S health lead has stepped down to pursue a new job.
Maggie Kufeldt, executive director of health and wellbeing at Oldham, will leave on March 20 to take up an interim role with Islington council in London.
The 48-year-old leaves after eight years in Oldham, during which she has worked in roles covering safeguarding and public health.
Most recently, she has overseen complex work to integrate social care and health services. Ms Kufeldt’s responsibilities will be absorbed into the new Local Care Organisation, which starts in April.
Colleagues have praised the mum-of-two, originally from Prestwich, for her years of service at the council.
Council chief executive Carolyn Wilkins said: “We’re very sorry to see Maggie leaving, but also happy for her as this is a positive step in pursuing her long-held personal ambitions.”
