New Tim Hortons is to open in city

-

CANADIAN coffee and doughnut chain Tim Hortons has revealed plans to open another Manchester branch on Oxford Road.

Set to open opposite Whitworth Park, this is the fifth confirmed site for the area.

Tim Hortons started its Greater Manchester roll-out with the UK’s first drive-thru on Bury New Road in December, which was met with dozens of people queuing and one fan waiting from 2am to be the first inside. This launch was shortly followed by stores in Bury, Altrincham and Sale.

The latest branch - set to open in unit 7 Wilmslow Park - will be open from 6am to midnight, serving treats such as the famous Timbits - the bite-sized doughnuts which come in a variety of flavours.

The Oxford Road venue will launch on March 17 and will offer the first 100 people in the queue a free lunch combo (any sandwich or wrap with potato wedges and a small brewed coffee, steeped tea or fruit cooler).

The first person in the queue will bag themselves a VIP coffee card, entitling them to a year’s free coffee (a maximum of two coffees per day).

Kevin Hydes, chief finance and commercial officer of Tim Hortons in the UK, said: “After experiencing such excitement with our previous store openings, we’re delighted to announce our continued expansion in the Manchester area on Oxford Road. We want to invite everyone to come down for a little taste of Canada.”

The Canadian chain has been steadily establishing itself in the UK, with sites now open across England, Wales and Scotland.
