Sanchez has dream to finish career back home

- By CHARLOTTE DUNCKER

ALEXIS Sanchez has admitted he wants to finish his career in Chile rather than at United.

The forward only joined the Reds from Arsenal a few weeks ago but he has explained he would love to end up playing at Universidad de Chile.

Sanchez’s adoptive father and the rest of his family are supporters of the club and the 29-year-old has been speaking to a Chilean TV station about his desire to return to his home country before the end of his career.

“I think it would be my family’s dream,” he told Chilevision TV.

“My father who is now in heaven was a supporter of La U and I think the truth is that a lot of my family would like me to end up there.

“My dad was the pillar of the family and sometimes people do things for their family as well.

“I played for Colo Colo and the truth is that it was great and I won a lot of things with them, but I think people are going to understand it because its a dream my dad had and god willing I am going to fulfil it.”

The Chilean has come under fire for his performances since making the switch to Old Trafford. But he isn’t letting the criticism get to him.

“The pressure doesn’t play against me, it helps me,” he said.

“The more pressure I’m under, the better I feel. I feel like an important player at world level.

“Being the best-paid in the Premier League fills me with pride at being Chilean.”
