Club Arvina arrives to wow Cheshire’s VIPs

TAKE a look inside Cheshire’s new super-VIP club - where the best tables come with a £6,000 minimum spend.

Club Arvina, on Ashley Road, in Hale, will cater for the area’s superwealthy and super-famous residents with a premium experience where guests will be ‘treated like royalty.’

All tables inside the club come with a minimum spend from £750, rising to that £6,000 price tag for the top two tables next to the dancefloor although entry to the club will be free before 11pm on Fridays and Saturdays.

And if you’re wondering how you could spend that much on booze, well, the club will be selling bottles of Remy Martin brandy for £6,000, a six-litre bottle of Grey Goose vodka for £1,200 and a magnum of Armand de Brignac champagne for £1,200.

There will be podium dancers wowing the crowds, who will also double up as waitresses in the club, as well as dazzling light displays.

Club Arvina is the brainchild of Chris Bacon, his wife Laura and their business partner Steve Smethurst, and they have spent thousands transforming the former Suburbia club.

Chris says: “I’ve always wanted a club. I’ve done security and doors in the past. I’ve always worked with clubs so I know what works with clubs, I know what the clientele likes.

“What I did learn over those years is that service is key, with most clubs you just don’t get that level of service you should be getting.”

Revellers shelling out £6,000 for the top tables (to seat 12 people) can expect a concierge service chauffeuring them to and from the club. And guests can also be treated to free make-up touch-ups on arrival.

It officially launched this week. Said Chris: “Hale is one of the richest areas in Britain, so why can’t we cater for that market?

“I live in Bowdon, everyone thinks they are a VIP. So why can’t I have a VIP club in a VIP area?

Chris says there will be no guest list on the door - and that you simply need to be ‘nice’ to get in. He says: “If you’re a nice person you’ll get in regardless of your money or status.”

Chris, originally from Tasmania, is a former judo champion who fought in the Olympics, world and Commonwealth arenas before working in door security for his brother, Living Ventures bar and restaurant empire founder Tim Bacon, and he went on to launch his own security companies that he now runs with Laura.

And in launching Club Arvina, Chris is paying a touching tribute to his beloved brother Tim and his 11-yearold son, Jett, who both lost their battles with cancer within four days of each other in 2016.

“That’s why we wanted to do something with the Bacon name,” says Laura. Chris smiles: “Arvina is the Latin name for bacon and this venture is our way of paying homage to them.”
