Why a host of celebs hit the city centre Diary special
IT resembled an episode of the comedy gameshow Celebrity Juice as team captain Gino D’Acampo arrived in town with his celebrity friends for a private party.
Chef Gino, a regular on Celebrity Juice and This Morning, was joined in Manchester by Spice Girl Emma Bunton, This Morning presenter Phillip Schofield and comedian Leigh Francis, who presents Celebrity Juice as his alter-ego Keith Lemon.
After arriving by private jet and checking in at the Lowry Hotel, Gino and his pals headed to Gino D’Acampo - My Restaurant before making the short walk over to his new pizza and prosecco place Gino D’Acampo - My Pizza & Prosecco Bar at the Arndale, which looks out over the Corn Exchange.
Baby Spice Emma, who recently sparked talk of a Spice Girls reunion after all five of the 90s girlband posed together for a photo, arrived in town with her husband Jade Jones from the R&B band Damage.
A smiling Emma looked pretty in pink in a bubblegum hue coat worn over a bow-detail blouse as she walked arm-in-arm with her man who looked dapper in a check patterned suit.
En route to the restaurant the party bumped into No Offence actor Will Mellor, who was there to pick up a takeaway.
The group looked delighted to see the Bredbury actor and stopped to chat, but unfortunately Will, clutching his food, couldn’t join the party because he had an early start the following day.
Also heading to Gino’s was Kaiser Chiefs frontman Ricky Wilson, looking smart in one of his trademark waistcoats, with his girlfriend Grace Zito who turned heads in an embellished red fur collared coat and floral boots.
An excited Gino tweeted ahead of the party: “Our #FridayFeeling is already a good one because @Ginofantastico and some very special guests are popping by for some drinks in #MyRestaurant #Manchester @cornexchangeMAN tomorrow from 6pm!”
