Man, 27, facing child sex charges at court
A MAN has been charged with a string of child sexual exploitation offences in Bury.
Carl Hodgson, 27, of Jordan Street, Manchester, is accused of causing a child under 13 to engage in sexual activity, grooming a child, abduction of a child, and possession of indecent images. The offences all relate to one girl.
He appeared at Manchester Magistrates’ Court yesterday and has been remanded in custody. This follows an ongoing investigation into child sexual exploitation in Bury, which began last summer.
As part of the same inquiry, on Thursday this week a 29-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of inciting child sexual exploitation and has been bailed until mid-April.
Police said: “Carl Hodgson (06/04/1990) of Jordan Street, Manchester, has been charged with causing a child under 13 to engage in sexual activity, grooming a child, abduction of a child, and possession of indecent images. The offences all relate to one girl. He appeared at Manchester Magistrates today, Friday, March 23, and has been remanded in custody.”
