Man, 29, suffers head injury
A MAN was seriously injured after being hit by a car in Leigh.
Emergency services were called to Atherleigh Way, near the junction with Parsonage Way, at around 3.45pm on Friday afternoon.
A spokesman for GMP said a man had been involved in a collision with a Honda Jazz. He suffered serious injuries, but they are not believed to be life threatening.
The 29-year-old was taken to hospital by ambulance where he was treated for a head injury.
Atherleigh Way was temporarily blocked while emergency services including the fire brigade - were on scene.
A GMP spokesman said: “The man was taken to hospital with a head injury. His injuries were serious but not life-threatening.”
The accident caused some rushhour traffic disruption on Friday.
