Paedophile handed 12-year jail sentence

-

A PAEDOPHILE who sexually assaulted a young girl – and collected thousands of sick images of children – has been jailed.

Terence Horner, 63, from Bury, built up a vile library of more than 10,000 indecent images of children, some of which he shared online.

Police said evil Horner ‘knew no bounds when it came to exploiting children’. Horner pleaded guilty to sexual assault and making, possessing and distributing indecent images of children at Minshull Street Crown Court. He was jailed for 12 years.

Horner, of no fixed address, was arrested in April last year after police received information regarding indecent images that were being shared online.

His phone and computer were seized by officers and analysed.

Police said they were subsequently able to prove that he had ‘systematically groomed’ a girl – and on one occasion he sexually assaulted her.

Det Sgt Darren Roughneen said: “The fact Horner sexually assaulted a young girl shows he knew no bounds when it came to exploiting children.”
