Cynical over NHS pay rise

CONGRATULATIONS to the hardworking men and women of the NHS on getting the much deserved pay award. Way,way overdue.

I just hope in the name of consistency and equality, that other public sector staff are going to be awarded appropriately by Mrs May.

The cynic in me looks at the timing of the announcement as we lead up to local council elections. Hmm. Can’t think why that would be..?

Despite austerity, some council chief executives earn huge salaries, yet hands-on cleaners, road-sweepers, transport workers, social services and school support staff most certainly do not.
