Wet feet as Pete dives in

-

COLD Feet returns to our screens later this year, and there’s dramatic scenes ahead as John Thomson was spotted filming a rescue in the canal at Castlefield. John, who plays loveable family man Pete Gifford in the ITV1 drama, was seen taking the plunge at the back of Barca bar as his character comes to the aid of a drowning man.

Pete and his friend Adam Williams, played by James Nesbitt, drag the man out of the water in what looks like a nightmare scenario for the father-oftwo filmed yesterday morning.

The cast have once again been reunited in Manchester to film the eighth series of the popular show, which returned in 2016 after 13 years away from our screens.

The show, created by Mike Bullen, is filming in the city centre and its suburbs as new storylines about the 50-something pals are set to unfold.

Also starring Hermione Norris and Robert Bathurst as Karen Marsden and her ex-husband David, and Fay Ripley as Pete’s wife, Jenny, the show follows the lives of the friends who live in Manchester.

The new series sees charmer Adam back on the singles market and Pete appears to have found his mojo again after suffering from depression.

Mike said about the show’s return: “It’s great to be back in Manchester at the start of another shoot. We’ve still got so many stories to tell for these characters and I’m delighted that we’re being given the opportunity to tell them.

“As usual, we’ll be aiming for the viewers’ funny bones and tear ducts.”

Series eight will film until July in Manchester and is set to broadcast on ITV later this year.

Previously the show has filmed in the Northern Quarter as well as The Midland Hotel, Victoria Baths, and The Woodstock pub in Didsbury is used as the local pub frequented by ‘the three amigos’ Adam, David and Pete.
