End of the sunshine, and back to rain, hail and thunderstorms

-

THE clear blue skies and glorious sunshine are set to be replaced by HAIL and thunderstorms.

Mancunians have whipped out the sun cream over the last few days as we enjoyed the year’s hottest days so far, but it seems the good weather is not going to last with forecasters predicting a turn for the worst this weekend.

And next week they expect a mixture of showers, grey skies and breezy weather.

Met Office meteorologist John West said: “Saturday afternoon will see heavy rain, thunder and potentially hail.

“It will start fine and quite bright, but through the afternoon there will be a risk of heavy showers, storms and hail.

“Into Sunday, there will be some unsettled weather. It will be a touch cooler and there is a risk of some heavy showers.

“Temperatures will feel colder, with highs of around 15C to 16C highs.”

Temperatures are going to be around average for this time of year.

Mr West said: “Next week will be like pressing the reset button and will see a return of the typical spring-like weather.

“It’s going to be very changeable throughout the week with rain, cloud and some spells of sunshine. It will be breezy as well. There will be some nicer and fairer spells of drier and brighter weather.

“Tuesday is going to be the nicest day of the week.”
