Message of hope after bomb horror

GIRL INJURED IN ARENA TERROR BLAST – WHO LOST HER AUNT IN ATROCITY – TAKES TO STAGE WITH PALS IN TV TALENT SHOW

- By KATIE FITZPATRICK

TONIGHT’S Britain’s Got Talent will feature a powerful performance by a dance troupe including a girl injured in the Manchester Arena attack.

RISE, who share an inspirational message of positivity and hope, perform an emotional routine to Ariana Grande’s anthem One Last Time, which was re-released last year to raise money for those affected by the atrocity.

The dancers use borrowed wheelchairs to perform their routine in solidarity of 13-year-old Hollie Booth, who returned to the city for the first time since both her legs were broken in the attack. Her aunt, Kelly Brewster, from Sheffield, was killed in the blast.

Hollie and her friends picked the song sung as an encore by Ariana on the night of the attack, and they wore T-shirts with the Manchester bee emblazoned on the front. “We’re doing it for Manchester and to make Manchester proud,” said one of Hollie’s pals before they took to the stage. “We’re doing this for us and we’re doing it for Hollie, and we’re doing it for everybody.” Judges Amanda Holden and Alesha Dixon couldn’t hold back the tears as the music started. Hollie, from Sheffield, was watching American pop star Ariana on May 22 when the attack took place. The schoolgirl’s aunt Kelly, 32, saved her life by shielding her from the blast. Kelly was one of the 22 people killed in the bombing and was hailed a hero for shielding her niece and sister, Claire Booth, who spent weeks in hospital. Britain’s Got Talent is screened tonight at 8pm on ITV.
