Agent of Reds target denies report of £80m transfer deal

UNITED do not have an agreement with Lazio to sign talisman Sergej MilinkovicSavic, according to the player’s agent.

Jose Mourinho’s priority this summer is to find a replacement for skipper Michael Carrick, who retires this month, and MilinkovicSavic is among those players on his radar.

The Serbia international will line up alongside Nemanja Matic at the World Cup and has been tipped to become of the most expensive footballers of all-time this summer.

One national newspaper claimed on Sunday United had agreed an £80m deal to sign the 23-year-old following a breakthrough in talks last week. Mourinho’s previous dealings with the player’s agent, former Chelsea striker Mateja Kezman, was said to have swung the transfer in United’s favour.

But Kezman has dismissed the reports as Lazio battle to secure a place in next season’s Champions League.

“Lazio have three big games to go and nobody has talked about any negotiations at this moment,” he told Lazionews. eu.

“The Biancocelesti have the opportunity to get their best result of recent years by qualifying for the Champions League.

“It’s only normal there is enormous interest in Sergej between some top European clubs, but we do not have any agreement with any club.”

United have also been linked with moves for Shakhtar Donetsk midfielder Fred and Napoli player Jorginho in recent months.
