ICELANDAIR has joined forces with the country’s football team to create a series of footballin­spired experience­s for travellers.

The 90-minute experience­s have been curated by the Icelandic national team in honour of the team qualifying for the World Cup.

The airline is a long-standing sponsor of the team and is now inviting passengers to follow in the footsteps of both the men’s and women’s team players

The Icelandair Team Iceland Stopover experience­s are available from the end of May and cater to a range of traveller’s passions, from culture to fitness and well-being.

They range from 90 minute training sessions at the legendary Breidablik Academy, to relaxing in the geothermal areas at Laugarvatn Fontana at the invitation of midfielder Birkir Bjarnason

All experience­s will be hosted by a ‘Stopover Buddy’, an Icelandair staff member who is passionate about Iceland and football and who takes pride in sharing their local knowledge and expertise. Aron Gunnarsson
