School in warning after man offers boy chocolate

-

A SCHOOL has issued a warning after a man in his car pulled up alongside a pupil and offered him chocolate.

Police confirmed they are investigating the incident, which happened near St Anthony’s Catholic College in Urmston yesterday morning.

It’s understood a pupil had been walking to school along Bradfield Road when a silver Nissan approached him.

The driver shouted across the road to the boy and offered him a chocolate bar.

When the child refused, the man told him he was allowed it, but the student again refused and kept walking. The car then drove off towards the M60 bridge. A spokesman for GMP said the incident happened at around 8.25am.

The driver is described as black, in his 40s, and was wearing a black baseball cap.

St Anthony’s Catholic College posted a warning on Facebook alerting parents and students about what had happened.

It read: “This morning a male pupil was approached by a black male in his 40’s wearing a black baseball cap and driving a silver Nissan.

“After shouting over the road to get his attention, he then offered the pupil a chocolate bar, he refused and the man said he was allowed it. The pupil refused again and carried on walking. The car drove off in the direction of St Antony’s.

“The incident occurred on Bradfield Road, Stretford just over from the mini roundabout. The police have been informed.” Call police on 101 with information.
