The street paved with gold! Nine neighbours win lottery
NINE neighbours on the same street have won at least £150,000 each on a lottery.
Five women and four men from Lulworth Road took home the biggest share of the monthly Postcode Millions prize pot with the winning postcode M30 8WP.
Clare Yarwood, 48, scooped the £300,000 jackpot and another eight of her neighbours won £150,000 each.
Clare, who works in security, said the money will help her pay off the mortgage and go on a nice holiday with boyfriend Tim.
“I’ve played the lottery for a few years and I was going to cancel recently because I was short of money, but I’m so glad today that I didn’t do that,” she said.
“This money will mean that I can pay off the mortgage and move closer to work, because at the moment I travel 60 miles a day for my job. I think I’ll celebrate by taking Tim on a nice holiday.
“I never realised how many people on my road played the lottery until now and it feels great to win with them all.”
Mum-of-two Gillian Escolme, a 29-year-old project manager, won £150,000 and can now plan her wedding with partner Dan Taylor.
She said: “We’ve been engaged for three years, but because we couldn’t afford a wedding we kept putting it off.”
The timing of the £150,000 windfall couldn’t have been better for 79-yearold Frank Skoins.
He is also celebrating his 50th wedding anniversary with wife Brenda this weekend.
He said: “This is just marvellous. I’m in complete shock – I’ve never had this amount of money before in my life!”
