THIS is the moment a kitten was thrown high into the air by a group of young children playing on a trampoline.

The RSPCA is appealing for information after a ‘distressing’ video emerged of the black and white cat hitting the ground from a height.

Footage of the incident, which happened on Villa Road in Oldham, shows a group of children playing on a trampoline in a neighbour’s garden.

They throw a young black and white cat into the air repeatedly whilst bouncing on the trampoline.

It is not yet known what happened to the animal or if it suffered any injuries after hitting the ground.

The animal welfare charity is now investigating and appealing for anyone who may have seen anything, or someone who may have found a dead or severely injured cat, to get in touch.

The RSPCA was alerted to the incident after the video was captured on Saturday, June 2.

Inspector Lorna Campbell, who is investigating, said: “This is a distressing video to watch and would have caused the poor cat extreme suffering.

“The children weren’t at their own property, this was a neighbour’s garden who didn’t realise the kids had climbed over the wall and were playing on their trampoline.

“It is worrying to think that children would have acted in this way and we are very keen to speak to them and their parents.

“If you have any information about this incident, or live in Villa Road or the surrounding area or if you think you own this cat, then please contact the inspectorate appeal line on 0300 123 8018.
