“My home is a place where I can be creative and express my personality, and I must do something right because whenever people come to visit they always say how much they like it!

One of my friends actually comes over to take photographs of things she likes in the house, which is really flattering.

I’ve got a lot of paintings in my house from an artist called Kerry Darlington, whose work I love.

The kitchen is the room in my home that I love best. When I first moved in it was like something from the ‘50s. But I’ve done a lot of work making it look more modern and giving it a lot of character. The kitchen table is a place I spend a lot of my time – a place where I can relax with my friends and boyfriend, eating, chatting, and often putting the world to rights!

Ultimately though, my home is the place I want to be whenever I’m anywhere else. It’s that feeling of relief when I walk through the front door. I put on my comfies and snuggle with my man on the sofa.

It’s taking my daughter to bed and reading her a story. It’s cooking Sunday lunch for the family in winter and burning sausages on the barbecue in the summer.

Home is security, warmth and safety. It’s the place where I like to make plans, sleep soundly and dream big. Home is what anchors me and the people I love.

There’s no place like it.”
