I’m sorry Nemanja, but you really need to take a holiday!

UNITED boss Jose Mourinho admits he hopes Serbia get knocked out of the World Cup in the group stages – so Nemanja Matic can go on holiday.

Mourinho is flying to Russia this summer to be a pundit for RT during the tournament and with just over a week to go until the action starts he was tasked with predicting the winners and runners-up for each group.

With 11 United players at the tournament Mourinho admitted he is faced with a dilemma as he wants them to win but he also wants them to have a rest.

“It is very difficult. I don’t want to be emotional, but I have to be,” Mourinho explained. “I want my players to win, but I also want my players to go on holiday. So, this is going to be tough.”

And during his prediction­s Mourinho apologised to one of his favourites, Nemanja Matic.

Serbia are in Group E With Brazil, Switzerlan­d and Costa Rica and the United boss tipped Switzerlan­d to go through at the expense of Serbia, with Brazil winning the group.

“I need Matic to go on holiday so Switzerlan­d to finish second, I’m sorry Nemanja but you need a holiday,” Mourinho said.

Another United player who will be disappoint­ed with Mourinho’s prediction­s is Victor Lindelof as he predicted they would miss out to Germany and Mexico in Group F.

Mourinho tipped his other nine United players to make it through to the knockout stages.
